Challenge: Efficient Storage and Assembly of Small Components
Our client, an international manufacturer of electromagnetic valves, manages a complex FIFO warehouse system with a very large number of stock-keeping units (SKUs).
For this client, it is crucial to quickly locate and accurately assemble many small parts that make up a single electromagnetic valve.
The problem is that the containers in the warehouse are large but very deep. When they are half-empty, they make efficient assembly difficult. Moreover, even when nearly empty, traditional containers create space utilization problems.
The labels on the containers with the component codes are easily damaged, causing additional difficulties.
Our Dedicated Solution:
- Our packaging specialist identified the potential for improvement and proposed the ideal solution for the client: our modular Box Mec container in the Euro pallet size, Box Mec BM1208.
- Box Mec helps optimize warehouse space: as parts are retrieved and their quantity decreases, you can recover space by removing one ring of the container.
- Additionally, the Box Mec BM1208 features a clear plastic label pocket, ensuring readability and order in component markings. The client also introduced color-coded labels to make it easier to distinguish parts, which has made the assembly process faster and more intuitive.
- When the stock of certain components runs low, the Box Mec can be folded, minimizing the space it occupies in the warehouse. Depending on the number of new parts, the container can be set-up again with one or more collars.
- Finally, the Box Mec is environmentally friendly: polypropylene is 100% recyclable after the end of its life cycle.
